Chefs Cook Up Gourment First At Vale Do Lobo
The fast growing worldwide gourmet ‘Pop-Up Restaurant’ trend makes its debut in Portugal this summer at Vale do Lobo, the Algarve’s largest luxury golf and beach resort. Three of the Algarve’s top chefs will create a gourmet dining experience for one night each in a unique al-fresco “Pop-Up Restaurant” within the gardens surrounding the Vale do Lobo Golf Club
The restaurant will “pop up” on 4th, 11th and 18th August when each chef will wow guests with their cuisine for one night in true east coast meets west coast style. The impressive line up includes
• Emmanuel Soares – a much talked-about newcomer who has just taken the reins at the Algarve’s new five star Martinhal Hotel in Sagres only a stone’s throw from the most westerly point in Europe. He has a passion for Portuguese produce in particular the unusual delicacies found on Portugal’s West Coast and his Michelin background showcases his talent superbly,
• Jaime Perez - waving the flag for the east , the El Bulli-trained and super-talented chef at Vistas Restaurant at Monte Rei near the Spanish border, takes a fresh, delicate, but technically challenging approach to his cooking with a Spanish twist.
• Hans Neuner is the newest Michelin star in the Algarve having won the coveted recognition this year. Aged 33, this significantly talented chef is not only a hit with the ladies, but his food is becoming some of the most inspiring on the coast. Austrian by birth, he has achieved an incredible feat for Ocean Restaurant at Vila Vita Parc, having the star awarded in less than three years after taking over the kitchen.
